Accommodation Currently the University occupies a separate area in the forest-park zone of the city (its territory is about 25 ha), which comprises eight academic buildings, 2 research institutions, research laboratories, University's library, campus, sport complex, swimming-pools, dispensary, clinic of first aid, dining halls, etc. You can live in a two-bed room on-campus: You can choose off-campus accommodation (to rent a flat, for example) Payment for accommodation per month:
3. Eating Students can eat at the University dining room, cafes or visit the student bar, which offers mire snack-type offerings. Students have possibility to cook their meal on their own. The cost of market basket with all the required products amounts to 150-200 $ per month. The prices of some food products are as follows:
All the products may be bought at supermarkets or agricultural markets. There are many products from countries of Europe, Asia, Africa in the city. 4. Police registration Students from some countries are required by law to register their name and address with the police. This can be done at the University. You will need: 5. Sports facilities The students of the KhAI have a good possibility to practice various kinds of sport. At the KhAI there is a sport complex which contains track and field hall, swimming pool, stadium. The University has an "IKAR" sporting health camp which is located on the coast of the Black Sea. It is a wonderful place to spend summer holidays and practice sport. 6. Shopping Around the campus there are many grocery stores, hairdressers, bakers, pharmacies and post offices. Also there is a market here. The center of Kharkiv has a lot of supermarkets, boutiques, shops. The network of municipal transport is well developed - there are taxi, buses, trolley-buses, trams and the metro. 7. Health care Students studying at the University can receive free health care from Students' Hospital. This service includes medical examination, referred and hospital treatment. Note: there may be a charge for some hospital treatments. Foreign students should get health insurance certificate (except those foreigners who arrived from the countries with which have concluded contracts of granting free urgent medical aid). The cost of health insurance is 70$ US. Representatives of Ukrainian Insurance Stock Company UKRINMEDSTRAKH abroad: Pakistan, India, Israel, Lithuania. 8. Bank You should open a bank account in Ukraine to be ensure any money you have with you is secure. There are many banks in Kharkiv. The department of UKRSOTSBANK is on-campus.
